I'm still not sure what you are doing....

If you are working on a C6 transmission, the computer has nothing to do with it.. Now if you are working on an E4OD it has everything to do with it...

If you are swapping a C6 into a truck that now has an E4OD you will have to do some computer swapping in the truck, unless you aren't bothered by check engine lights, the C6 will most likely use the same computer in the truck that a manual would use... If you are swapping an E4OD into a truck that had a C6 it will need a computer to control the E4OD. Without the proper computer an E4OD just isn't gonna work right!!!

Had a racing shop rebuild my 1996 C6, no computers. I also have a Gear Vendor behind it. Authorized GV tech guycut my drive shaft too short and caused too much heat, had to rebuild tranny from that expensive mistake tech guy.

Where I'm heading is I want to take my existing c6 out of my 1988 Ford F250. I'm going to swap it for a manual. and I want to rebuild the automatic. With a performance kit from monster transmission. To beef it up. The guy going to help with the transmission rebuild says he won't work on it if it's computerized.

I am also a bit confused what you are trying to accomplish. Why bother rebuilding the automatic if you are going to swap it out with a manual? Other than a possible driveshaft length issue, I would think, it should be a direct swap. Neither of those transmissions have electronics connected to them. Your existing PCM will work with the manual trans.

Cause I want to learn about the transmissions. Also if i want to put the C6 in something. It would bolt up to whatever I wanted it to I guess as long as the bellhousing. Bolts match up.

Some parts from an e4od will swap with a c6. You would want a kit for the c6 not tje e4od.
There are three different c6 bell housings, small block, big block, and diesel.
