First Impressions from My First Road Trip
Just completed 200 miles in my 2015 Expedition EL Limited. Overall, it was quite impressive. On the plus side.....Gas mileage was about 15.5 miles per gallon. Plenty of room for my wife son and I plus all of our gear. I think the new Expedition offers the best styling of all of its competitors. On the down side...... First, I have the bench second row and it is beyond me why when the center seat is folded down it has to slide forward. All of the controls are blocked plus access to the inverter is really limited. Second, the front seats could use more support, this may be more of a personal issue, but I was not impressed at all with them. It would also be great if Ford would have provided the massaging seats like I had in my SHO. For $63K, I would have thought it would have been a great option. Finally, while I do love the EB motor, it still does not compare to the Yukon Denali that I test drove. Obviously the 6.2 in the Denali provides a lot more horses, but the Expedition feels underpowered. Again, overall, I don't regret the purchase, this is a great vehicle.

Interesting. I agree on the front seats. In my opinion, they are too flat and the lower is too short (I am 6'3). My F150 seats are more supportive and comfortable.
As far as power, I think the Expedition is pretty quick for an SUV. I believe they have been clocked 0-60 in the mid 6's. We have a standard length and it hauls the mail quite nicely. Fast Lane Truck did several drag races with the Lincoln Navigator (standard length) vs. a Yukon Denali with the 6.2. The Lincoln destroyed it in every race. Granted, there was some extra weight with the Yukon, but it also has more hp. The Lincoln beat it enough that if given the same race against a standard Yukon with the 6.2, it would likely have been pretty even. I know the Lincoln is rated a bit higher than the Expedition powerwise though. I am sure that helped.

A couple of minor complaints....
#1 - The right screen in the instrument cluster should have the same display capabilities as the left in addition to the current ones it already has. It would be really nice to see a Tach, trans temp, and fuel on the left while being able to see trip and/or trailer info on the right.
#2 There should be a lockout for the rear audio controls.
#3 The guide lines for the back up camera are slightly askew. It makes it more difficult to line up a hitch when I have a line protruding several degrees off to one side.
#4, Okay Ford, what is your obsession with the floor shifter on a truck? My 2004 Expy has a column shifter. I can hide bodies in that console, use two manly sized Big Gulps in the cup holder without rubbing up against each other, and I have more acreage to rest my elbow when executing the gangsta lean. On my 15, I got this chrome looking stick that gets used for no more than 5 seconds of my drive. Then this thing just sits there in the way of my Big Gulp. The beautiful chrome trim does a fantastic job of finding the sunlight (no matter what angle) and reflecting it in your eyes. All the while, just sitting there, poised, waiting to be utilized again for less than 2 seconds to move the transmission from drive to park.
To me it is just a foolish waste of resources in the name of following or trying to lead a trend. But hey, isn't that what the tree huggers have been calling SUVs from the start?
Other than that, it's downright perfect.

Mine has the 3.73 gears. Was driving right around 70 mph the entire time. Now we just returned and we averaged right around 19 mpg doing the same speed limit.
