Hey guys, I took my 1996 F150 Reg. Cab 4x4 to the mechanic, and he said for $180 he'll replace my Valve Cover Gaskets and (upper) Intake Plenum Gasket.... I have a very slow leak and I would love to get this fixed myself because I don't have $180 laying around. I already have the correct gaskets, now I just need to know how to replace the damn things and where they are. If someone could post like a tutorial or a map of the upper part of the 5.8L EFI engine, it would help a lot. And I need to know the tightening sequence too.

For the top plenum its really easy its just 6 bolts and a couple vacuum lines along with the throttle cable. I just did mine a week ago and the hardest part was getting the old gasket off. As far as torque I dont remember how many ft pounds but it took me about 1 hour to do mine

 

make sure you use reusable rubber valve cover gaskets or else youll be fighting slow leaks forever.
