Those with the Edge Insight CTS

Just ordered the CTS monitor after hearing some good things about it. I have a couple questions.

1. Will it monitor trans temps through the pcm?

2. What do I need to get it to measure boost?

This is my first jump into actually monitoring what the truck is doing. What exactly is this monitor capable of monitoring out of the box?

This is what I purchased.

Lol. I think there is some but most people run gauges. You should be pretty set up but the pcm doesn't monitor trans temp. From what I have heard these things can monitor a lot.

Most people run gauges to read temps and they run TS 6 position chip for tuning.

Here is a thread from the sticky section I think you should read....

The insight is not a programmer Alex. It just monitors what the pcm is putting out.

It does monitor trans temps and boost, but the boost comes from the MAP, so it will be off a few pounds, but nothing ridiculous. I have both analog gauges and the CTS. I have been pretty happy with it for towing and daily driving. You will have to get the probe for EGT readings, but that is the only addition I have done with mine. You can read HPOP/ICP and a plethora of other parameters. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hopefully my questions make sense.

Kit is 1 gauge where you can view 2 items at a time but you can have many items available for access. Just press the buttons to scroll thru different items. Think I have 8 programmed in. There is also a cycle mode where each item will cycle through the display, but I don't use that feature. Same with dual gauges, each can display 2 items at a time so you can see 4 items at a time.

Does this read EGT and trans? What additional sensors do you need?

I've been running an Edge Insight for years on my '96 F250. As noted earlier, the OBS OBDII does report the automatic tranny temperature. I use the Insight to monitor many unusual off-the-range readings for such things as the ICP pressure, IPR%, exhaust back pressure, etc. I've also got a gaggle of other gauges to read fuel pressure, oil temperature, etc. It's good to have a combination of instruments if you want to monitor the full spectrum of what's going on under the hood.
