Yep, I'm doing all rubber products in fuel system while out. I hope to find brass float, but so far no luck. It is comforting that link you posted showing Rock Auto has the carb, at reasonable price, should I screw up my rebuild. By the way, found the EECIV box when ripping out the nasty carpet yesterday, it's under a plastic cover where a normal glovebox would be. I had presumed that was just part of the dash and never looked closely but you get very intimate ripping out carpet. Man, it really stunk. So, to recap, going to get it going stock and see how things go from there. Thanks again for thoughts/suggestions/encouragement and help.

You are very welcome! This is all fresh in my mind and much of it is book marked as I have been working on my 85... I bought a reman non-feedback carb from Rock Auto for mine but haven’t swapped it yet. I am currently running the feedback carb with the duraspark II ignition. Ir was running good till it quit! My problem is, I believe, the fuel sending unit pick up tube has rusted off. When i first got the van it acted like it was out of gas with 1/2 tank still in it. After I did the ignition swap I went for a test drive and filled it up with gas.. A couple of miles later it quit. While working on it I had noticed the fuel pump seeping gas, not dripping so i changed the pump in the parking lot I had rolled into. That did not work... Being frugal and not wanting to pay a towing bill, I removed the engine cover and connected a hose to the carb and ran it into a 1 gallon can I had and drove it home!!!! I should have connected the line to the fuel pump!

I would be hesitant to buy a feedback carb if you are thinking about doing a DSII swap..
If you decide to do a DSII swap, don’t bother going to pull a part in Birmingham,, I got the only harness they had 3 or 4 months ago!! I wound up getting 3 different harnesses and only one was correct and it had several bad connectors. I was able to build one using parts from the others.
If I was going to do it again, I would buy new connectors and build my own.

I have not swapped the carb yet because I wanted to test it out first. Also intake manifold is seeping a good bit of oil from the back side and I plan on taking it off along with the valve covers and cleaning everything i can before I put it back together. I will change the carb then. I am curious to see how much sludge has built up.. I had a 90 town car and had to do some work on the top half of it. While I had it apart I cleaned it like new and even took the lifters apart and cleaned them.

But here is your float
Carburetor float part number...
O’Reilly Walker 100-42
NAPA Part Number: CRB 2480

FORD D4AZ-9550-A

Replaces Ford DOAZ-9550-A, D4AZ-9550-A

Note from a ebay seller
THIS FLOAT WILL FIT MOST FORD MOTORCRAFT 2100 & 2150 2 BBL CARBURETOR. THERE ARE TWO STYLES FOR THE EARLIER YEARS (1958- 75) SO PLEASE CHECK YOUR FLOAT CAREFULLY. THIS AD IS FOR THE CENTER HUNG FLOAT. THE OTHER FLOAT THE HANGER IS OFF SET FROM THE CENTER. YOU CAN SEE THE OFF SET FLOAT IN OUR OTHER LISTING FOR FORD BRASS FLOATS. (2100 ONLY)

There is a walker 100-40 I believe it is the one the ebay seller is talking about that will not fit your carb...
