Hey Copper,
Welcome Aboard! Nice to see another Texas '50 on here!!

Good looking truck. I wouldn't waste any time switching out a
nice running engine - just drive it & have fun. Be sure to grease the zerks in that Mustang II IFS -
I think they say every 2000 miles or so. A wood back bed would be a good first project. We used
Midwestern Early Ford for our bed but there are a lot of options out there.

Looking good up there in Dallas!!

That is a nice looking truck, good color too. My truck also had a 350 by the PO. I chose to rebuild it and switch to a 700R4 since the FSB were out of my price range at the time. I shaved the handles on my truck and now have remote opening doors with one piece glass power windows. Inside I still have the handles, outside is shaved. You are already ahead of me since mine isn't driving yet, although it is running and wired. I just got sidetracked with too much work for the last two years to do all the final details (like final paint, and installing a bed ).
Good luck with your truck, sounds like a good one.

In a word yes. the first pic is of the drivers door, the scond pic is the passenger door incorporating the original key lock feature. In a word, go find a locksmith. I have way too much time in making it work!

I'm surprised that all fits in the door. Thanks for the pics, Bill!

Ross,
I do not advocate doing what I did. Incorporating the key to work with the power door locks took way too much effort. If you are considering power locks, I would forget the key and set up a remote manual unlock for back up. I did that also.

First post -- Hi!

Found a local locksmith to make me a key, will be getting that done and then play with keyless but not have to rely on it! If I get it working, I will create a write up.
