LMC truck 3" lowering springs

I recently received the 3" rear lowering springs from LMC from a very exhausted looking UPS driver. (had to tote the 60lbs springs about 100 yards to the door). They come with rubber gromets and banding straps around each section of the springs and I am wondering if this is how they are supposed to stay or was that just for shipping...? I called their customer service number but the young lady on the phone said I would need to "ask an outside mechanic". My original leaf springs have 4 rivited brackets holding the leafs (leaves ) together. Has anyone else used these and is this how they are supposed to be?

That is how they are supposed to be. Mine are from Posie's but they use the same method to hold the leaves together.

Thanks. I installed them and everything looks good. I actually only got a 2.5" drop because my originals were already sagging a bit. I guess that's what's meant by "3' drop from stock height". They sure ride a lot better than the 60 year old springs

They should settle a bit more as you drive it and loosen up the bushings. I assume that you have lubed them?

Yes, I soaked them good while laying on their sides overnight the first night and was satified when I saw it was coming out onto the rags they were laying on. I wiped the excess off and then installed them. Some more squeezed out once I let the truck down so I cleaned that off as well. I cleaned the eye pins and grease fittings out real well with brake cleaner before reinstalling them and then filled them back up with fresh grease also. Next step is new rear shocks.
