I have an 03 cv ifs I have started on for my 56 F100. I have read lots of guys doing this swap but haven't noticed much discussion on brakes?? What are the guys using for brakes - as in factory calipers or aftermarket ???

This is my first full suspension swap and I have found this forum great!

Factory calipers on factory or generic replacement rotors. The master cylinder is a Ford pu or Explorer mounted underneath.

 

The stock brakes are fantastic.

 

I am using the brakes and rotors that were on the '03 CV when I got it from the junk yard. Cleaned everything up and pads that were on it still had plenty of life left. I am using my stock '55 ms because I opted not to go with power brakes since the disc brakes stop the truck better than the front drums used to.

 

Thanks - Going with stock calipers - have all pieces cleaned, painted and re-assembled. looks great. Awaiting frame and cab back from media blasting.
