Saw this 2011 at a dealership and it reminded me I've seen this asked here before (painting chrome).

If you scuff it up real good with 60/80 grit paper then paint will stick to it real good. If you want your front end black then just get an XL and save your sanity

why not just plastidip it? cheaper then paint, take a lot to get it to chip off, and you can just peel it off if you decide to go back to chrome?

Scuff it, self etching prime it, then paint it.

90% of a good paint job is prep.
