There's not really anything to fix. Whoever prepped the truck after it arrived from the factory didn't remove the piece of rubber. As far as the OP I can't say why he hasn't gone back to his dealer.

Agreed. I had the same piece of rubber stuck inside. I saw it with flashlight. I thought it was a pencil eraser. Can't remember how I fished it out of there.

I just experienced this and you guys helped me figure it out. Thank you! But, I wanted to point out that the piece of rubber has nothing to do with transport and needs to remain there. It is a little ball that rolls into place when you put the seat up to make sure the lid stays closed and your stuff doesn't fall all over the place. Mine got stuck because my 5-year old tried to open the lid while I had the seat up & it wedged the ball in there. Once I put the seat back down and poked the ball back down, voila!

Twice mine has done this after folding it up to let a passenger ride. First time was frustrating, but it can be fixed in 2 seconds with a pocket knife. The little rubber ball is red, and I agree, it's there to take up slack in the latch.
