is my lift the problem??

I am taking my truck to the dealer tomorrow to have the rear end worked on. I believe the whole rear end is dead. It started making a grinding noise after i had the dealer replace a front pinion seal that was leaking. Does my 6" susp lift void my warranty. My service guy said it truly does void it but he was not saying anything about it and was still going to service it under warranty. But my concern is WHAT IF THEY CANNOT FIX ALL THE PROBLEMS and i try to turn it in as a lemon will they blame all the problems on my lift?

I don't see how your lift would void your warranty on the axle, the larger tires might.

hm, grinding from the rear or front after they replaced the front pinion seal? if from the front, its very easy to screw the nut on to tight, after replacing seal, placing to much load on your bearings, and nuking your front end.

I cant tell if the grinding is coming from the front or rear. It feels like it is right under my feet when i am driving. I thought they said they replaced a front pinion seal on the rear end. I may be wrong. The leak is stoipped but now it is grinding on something.

Seeing that your rig is a 2003, just by changing the stock suspension, you may have voided your warranty. Depending on:
The shop that installed your lift, are they certified through FORD or sponsored by a Ford Dealership?
Why isn't the shop that installed the lift doing the repairs? Did you sign some type of waiver to accept responsibility for the lift and the problems you may encounter?
One last item. Since you've POSTED the pictures of your rig, there's no way you can turn the truck in as a lemon. Sorry...
I wish I could take everything back that didn't work out in my favor.... Talk to you guys later....

My truck wass not lifted by a ford certified mechanic but my ford service man is still warranting my truck. I had also read somewhere that said anything that goes wrong with my truck that ford has to prove that the lift i put on was the problem and in this case I know it was not. I spoke with my service man yesterday and he said they were putting new bearings in my rear end and a new seal. Hope this helps.

Hey Todd. Up here, the dealers make you pay for drinking water! I must be living in the wrong part of the country! Good luck and if all else fails, switch over to CV's. Can't go wrong there.
Nice rig though!! Talk with you later....
