Can someone explain what falls under warranty?

Ok. So the truck I just bought is sitting at 30.5k miles. Sticker on the truck showed 3yr/36k bump-bump, 5yr/60k powertrain. I did not purchase any extended warranty plan through the dealer.

So, with that said...

I think I read where DPF/EGR 'magic' voids powertrain warranty? Is this true?
Does lifting the truck (4.5" or less) void the bump-bump warranty and/or powertrain warranty?

Perfect if lift doesn't void anything and really not concerned if it voids the bump-bump, as that is about up anyhow. Just don't want to affect powertrain with either, as I have 1/2 that warranty life left.

Thanks.

So you want a truck with the power train and suspension modified and expect a warranty? Good Luck.

At what point did you think I said 'expect a warranty'?

Wanted clarification. I've read multiple different forums where some say lifting won't void the warranty and then some say it will. Dealer by Dealer case.

As for the delete, just wanting to know if it falls under the powertrain warranty, as it is emissions and really hurts our powertrain if you want to be critical of it.

Like I said, not worried about the lift voiding bump warranty...as long as it don't affect the powertrain warranty. Hence my question for clarification.

Thanks.

If an aftermarket modification causes a failure then it would not be warranteed.

Getting the dealer to be reasonable may or may not be an issue, depends on the failure.

truck is still technically under warranty.

One of the problems with a lift with oversized tires is that it CAN though the actual milege off so the dealer can say that the warentee is void because if it. most places ard reasonable. the lift and tires did not effect the radio, so it would still be warranteed if it failed. but they can say because of the extra load from the larger tires, the strain on the drive lines from the lift, the drive train warentee is void. I would say a lift and larger tires would probably void the engine warentee also.

Also, need to find the Warranty In-Service Date. Might be different than what you think is the warranty period.
