How to make my truck faster
#5
If it has an OD trans in it (very likely) then check your axle gearing. If it has 4.10 gears, you can prob change them out to 3.73 or 3.55. If you don't have an OD trans in it (C6), swapping one in would be a huge help in keeping the revs low at highway speeds.
Also keep in mind an F250 is a heavy hog, unless you really need the extra GVW, I would downgrade to a 150 SWB if you want a speedy road/fun truck.

Increase horsepower and/or reduce weight.
The cheapest solution: Take the bed off and strip everything out of the interior.
More expensive solution: replace the motor with a much bigger one
reasonable solution: headers & less restrictive exhaust, replace heads & cam with performance versions, change gear ratio
Obvious solution: take it out of 4WL

He wrote "faster" not "fast".
We need to know which one he means. And even in that we have to assume he means 0-60mph, not 60-120mph.
The gear swap to numerically lower number (4.11 swapped to 3.55 for instance) is a terrible idea unless for some reason he wants to cruise the highway "faster" or maybe a bit lower rpm.

Yes, we need to know the type of 'faster.' If you want to be able to corner or brake faster thats a whole different set of modifications from accelerate faster. Also what sort of money are you willing to spend to make it faster? Dropping in a crate motor is expensive, especially compared to adding headers, but the gains will vary too. At a certain point your skill level might play a factor in making it faster. Is it auto or manual? If manual, how fast can you shift? Also if you don't know how to install a turbo kit, then that's a different set of skills (or be able to pay someone to do it). OP, please elaborate.
