4 high light staying on
Alright, after a tiring search across the web, I have yet to find a solution to my problem. So I am coming to the community for help.
Truck '08 f250 6.4 manual trans, ESOF 4x4 system
Issue: 4x4 high light stays on.
Details:
For about a year I've been having issues with my hubs not disengaging properly, I have finally got that issue repaired, but now my 4x4 high light will not go out. The truck is NOT in 4x4 but my light is staying on. I have checked all fuses and relays relating to the ESOF system and found no issues. Has anyone else encountered this same issue? Or at least a similar one?
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like shift motor isn't disengaging transfer case possibly? Can you turn front drive shaft freely when you think it's in 2 wheel drive? With truck not running but key in the run position...when you move 4x4 selector switch....do you hear transfer case motor engaging and disengaging 4x4?

Thanks for the bump!
I havent had a chance to mess with it since i posted the original question.
"Can you turn front drive shaft freely when you think it's in 2 wheel drive?"
yes, i am able to spin the front shaft freely when i think the truck is in 2wd. the light still stays illuminated though.
"With truck not running but key in the run position...when you move 4x4 selector switch....do you hear transfer case motor engaging and disengaging 4x4?"
yes, i can also hear the t-case engaging and disengaging, 2wd to 4hi to 4lo and vice versa.
Where does the light get its signal from? i was thinking that there should be some sort of a proxy switch in the t-case? or does it just read whatever the last signal the relays gave? i noticed there is another harness that runs to the topish side of the t-case on the drivers side, is that the switch that controls the light?

Check the little vacuum pump on the drivers side behind the battery. I found mine one time had one of the hoses loose. Search other threads you will also find the PVH solenoid. It is on the passenger side behind or near the fan shroud (I have never had to or tried to look for it).
