SCT custom tune which one
My new powermax will be going on this week. Right now I'm running sct x4 street. I want to get a custom tune made but unsure which company to go with. I'm studded but I'm still going for reliable truck. I have a stock transmission. I drive 80% highway mostly. The most I tow is 4500 ski boat. Please tell me who you use, how the truck perform, does it shift good, and what tune your running. Thanks I've been searching but some post are old and outdated.

I have Innovative tunes and run the tow tune. It runs a little better then stock but not like the street or race tunes. I really like the way the trans shifts. I read that Eric at Innovative handles the trans better but that was a few years ago. The tuner and tunes are about 5 years old. I also read that Matt's tunes have a little more low end but it really depends on the tune, tow, street, econo.

I have custom tunes from MPT (morepowertuning.com) loaded on mine. I really like the towing tune for pulling my trailer around. a little more power than stock with excellent shift points and the "jake brake" feature on it works VERY well. My trailer brakes took a dump on me recently, but I still rarely need to get on the brakes over 25mph. My truck's brakes weren't even hot after my last towing experience with no trailer brakes.
I use their perf-eco tune for daily driving. it shifts a little lower in the RPMs than stock and has a little more power than the "street" tune from sct. every now and then, the 3-4 shift will hesistate or hang for a 1/2 second, but otherwise, great tune. hardly any smoke unless you floor it from a dead stop.
Their bazooka tune is a riot, but a lot of black smoke. Perf-eco is plenty of power for my needs.
I don't have any other custom tunes to compare to, although i hear the gearhead tunes work well, especially the 8k tow tune.
