Trailer wiring

I need to install a brake controller on my truck for an upcoming move from Ca to Tulsa. I have located the light blue wire for the trailer brakes behind the rear bumper but have not been able to locate the same wire under the dash. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Any help would be appreciated. I usually hang out in the F1 forum.

Assuming it's on your 02, and assuming you already have the factory 7 pin connector on the rear bumper.

There is a plug under the dash between the gas pedal and radio. (Yes it is burred in there) I think it is square gray 6 pin connector. Your brake control plugs into that connector. If your controller does not have the matching connector, you can get one at a local auto parts store.

At least that's how my 03 was.

you may need to put in some fuses and a relay in the power distribution box, under the hood, if its never been used for a trailer towing.
