Gauges V2.0

Didn't want to hijack the other thread....so
I just bought a Autometer mechanical fuel pressure gauge for the truck, Cause 20 some odd gauges with TP is just not enough. and the instructions state I have to have a Fuel Isolator and Braided gauge tubing to make this work inside my cab. I understand this for Gasoline, but do you need all that with diesel??? Is everyone using electric sensor devices or what? I've always used mechanical gauges cause they tend to be more accurate...But that was back in the SUNN days.... Let me know.Thanks.

I use electronic. The old electric gauges were a coil of wire around a bi-metal spring attached to the needle - iffy accuracy and performance. Modern electronic gauges are A/D converters with servos - far more precise than the old days. While one might make a comparison of reliability between mechanical and electronic, I never saw an electronic gauge bleed air, coolant, fuel, or oil out a tube or into the cab.

This! This! A thousand times, this. There's nothing like checking your A pillar for boost leaks.
