F250 XLT 95 New paint job help.
I was in a accident with my old girl and put some new part on her, I have a new bed for her. She has a 460 under the hood will true duals. Here are some before and after photos.
Im looking to repaint her, This would be my first paint job and i want to do the rustoleum paint hack. Is this a good idea, And any pointers on how to do it.
Im looking to paint mine like this.

If the rest of the paint is good why not just have the front clip sprayed to match by a body shop? Would be better looking in the long run.
I have looked into the rustoleum paint job thing and from what I have read you have to buff it a couple times a year to keep it as shiny as a normal clear coated paint job. Of course with a lot of time, elbow grease, the right tools, and about $200-$250 bucks in material you can do it yourself vs the thousands of dollars a full truck paint job would cost..... I think I will do it on a vehicle but haven't committed to doing one yet. I think the Texas sun will eat it alive after a few years though. I need to buy a carport......
May I ask would you be rolling it or at least buying a spray gun and have a compressor to spray it yourself?

I've painted a truck once with rustoleum and it turned out well BUT i didn't use hardener and it took about 3 days in the garage to dry in the mean time theres always dust an bugs floating around. So the moral of the story is : Use hardener and hopefully you're using a spray gun and compressor so it'll have to be thinned and with any good paint job the prep is the most important.. It'll won't be show quality but in a week or so ,if you use your truck as a truck it'll look fine.

I am not very good with any spray, I alway apply to heavy and get runs, I would like to roll it on but take my time so its nice, I dont want it done in one day.

Yeah if your not spraying go flat. Rolling it right takes forever and multiple coats to do it half right besides all the prep....... If you have a compressor with a decent CFM rating and are going to go threw the trouble of painting and priming might as well consider buying a spray gun and doing it that way.
