I had my '71 Bronco painted at Maaco. It's a pretty good 20/20 paint job (looks pretty good from 20 feet away or when driving by at 20 mph. But you get what you pay for. With Maaco what you don't pay for is prep. If you prep it first they'll do a pretty good job of shooting it (probably better than you'd do with a roller). But you won't get the kind of finish that BigGreen350 has on his truck, that's for sure!

By the way, I had Maaco prep my Bronco too. It cost a LOT more than $399, but not as much as most body shops would charge. I'd have Maaco paint a trail rig again. But not something I wanted to be anywhere near show quality.

About 15 years ago when I worked at the body shop we had the county fleet vehicle maintain account.

We prepped the vehicles, then shipped them over to Macco. Not a bad job for the cost. I did all the prep on my 90 Chevy dump truck(replaced fender/door, cut out and welded in cab corners, fixed any dents and wet sanded the whole truck, removed all trim and possible glass). They sprayed the cab/nose and the whole dump body for $400 and gave me an extra quart of paint(red, the most expensive color). It was just single stage(but it left the factory that way). The truck looked GREAT. It could of used a wet sand/ buff but it did Not need it.
