I have a 97 f150 with 4.6 and the problem I have is the water temp gauge goes to full hot when the key is turned on. im thinking short in wiring to gauge or bad gauge as sending unit has been replaced. im not sure if the computer uses any of the information from that sending unit. I have a mechanical gauge I would like to install in place of the factory sending unit. if not where would a good place be to install the aftermarket sender.
