1999 f150 engine swap

So, I have a 99 f150 with the 5.4l triton v8. Just bought it. Procomp 40x13.5 tires on 17 inch rims. Skyjacker 6 inch suspension kit. 4 inch body lift. Zero rust. Picked it up for 2k. The bad: the retard I bought it from tried fixing a blown spark plug with a helicoil and screwed the Helicoil down till it dropped onto the piston on the drivers side 3rd cylinder back. I tried and tried to fish it out of there to do a real fix with the plug sleeve but can't fish the Helicoil out,so, have to remove the head. Removing the head means basically stripping the engine down to the block and probably many days of heartache, blood, sweat and cursing. I've decided to do an engine swap instead because it's much easier haha. My question is: I found a 98 expadition with the 5.4l,4x4 ect. I read on here that 99 on up were all swappable with minor alterations but not a thread about engines from the older models. Will this engine be a direct bolt on swap with no modifications? Also are the tranny 's and other drive train parts interchangable if I need them down the road? They are asking 1500 for the expadition. I was seeing other used engines going for over 1k for just the longblock. Not any cheaper than that. So I feel this is a pretty good deal if it's all interchangable. Thanks for the help
