Throttle solenoid wire to AC

Hi,
I have been slowly straightening out wires in my 84 250. There is a wire coming off of the throttle solenoid on the carb that I think is for the air conditioner to kick up the idle. I just found a connector buried in the loom running to the compressor that is lightly melted but I think is the right place to plug this in. It is certainly the only connector within reach, and it is associated with the AC wiring.
Does this sound like the right connector? I can just clean it up and try it, but I would hate to screw something up. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Dan
