I don't have a '59 but a '60 and it really dosen't have a wiring diagram per sey. It does have some small sections pertaining to the section it is talking about. Some folks have got nice laminated ones off ebay.

This isn't too bad 1959 Ford Truck Wiring diagrams needed | The H.A.M.B.

I have that diagram shown in that thread, called "1959 Ford 6, all models" And that is what I have questions about. On My '59, I have a brown wire coming off the "S" terminal on the starter solenoid, that is going to the + side of the coil. That diagram shows it going instead, to the neutral safety switch (mine is a manual trans)

The diagram shows a red wire, going from the resistor, to the + side of coil (that wire is correct) What I am missing, is a wire from the I terminal of the solenoid , to the + side of the coil

The '60 is a little different since it uses a resistor wire unlike the '59 with a resistor but I would believe the concept has to be the same. The power goes directly from the "I" terminal to the coil when the key is in the start posistion so to give the points 12 volts during starting. When the switch springs back to the run posistion, the power to the coil is routed thru the resistor to knock it down to 5-6 volts to prolong the life of the points. Not really an exact answer but another piece of the puzzle.

The pics:

While these are rather generic, they are from p.2-2 in my repro '57 manual. I am fairly certain it is a proper copy, after seeing they also copied someone's penciled-in noted on one page!

Interesting, that diagram shows a wire going from the ignition switch to the battery cable stud on the starter relay, wonder if it is a yellow wire
