Help! EGT's 2020 after injector o-ring change

I don't think anybody here believes the EGTs actually idled up to over 2000 degrees F. Maybe the sensor had oil on it and caught fire, maybe the gauge read wrong... but the engine was not glowing red and the fender paint is still there - so it had to be a fluke.

Exactly. Like I said it just freaked me out. I didn't know what to think. I knew there was no possible way it could be that hot. It was just when I gave it throttle and it acted like it was choking the engine that it really worried me. It's running like a top now except for a little smoke. Guess it was the oil choking the engine too. I guess the combustion chamber just really doesn't get along with oil very well.
