We need to call our senators.

They are trying to make working on our own trucks, cars, tractors illegal.

I have a better idea, abolish the EPA and we won't have to modify new vehicles to make them run.

Oh you don't want me to work on my own truck anymore?

Well, that really sucks, what really sucks is that sometimes I know more about the truck than the person working on it, but I'll make you a deal.....I won't work on my truck anymore, if you don't charge me to fix it when I bring it to the dealership.

Until you agree to that, I'm working on my own truck...

Its never going to happen...you think the Gov't has the time to police that. Nah they are too busy collecting pay checks for the 9 days a year they go in to their jobs, (notice I didn't say go to work), and the president is too busy wasting our money golfing and taking vacations.

Keep working on those trucks, heck if it happens I'll let you come to my shop and you can work on them in here...

Those automakers that want to keep you out from under the hood are just trying to protect their bottom line.

I don't think you can "fault" them for it. We don't have to buy their "stuff"

But, what we REALLY need to do is NOT elect complete idiots to the House and Senate!!

Like this complete MORON who indicates that he thinks the island of GUAM is floating!!
I think the General should have just got up and left.

I don't really fault the Morons elected to Congress. I fault the MORONS who elect them.

There's not much hope for them......(or us)

I agree it won't happen (anytime soon) but the sick part about it is simply the fact that the companies are even thinking about this junk.

In California they passed the law that parts stores cant scan your vehicles for codes, nor can they loan out scanners anymore. The only way around it is if that parts store has a repair shop attached. So it is possible that it can pass especially with the automakers lobbing power. What will help though is parts houses lobby, if we cant work on them they will go out of business.

I am also curious how long the "we own it , not you" will apply?
a few years back I remember taking an older OBD1 vehicle to a dealer to get checked out and they said they dont have the equipment to do it and couldn't get parts anyway if they did, could have been just a lazy service manager.

I wish I could remember what vehicle it was -I have owned about 15+ different vehicles in the last 20 yrs
