2013 F150 Ecoboost 6R80 Transmission Failure Help
#62
I got my truck back today; they dropped the pan again and found moisture contamination in the fluid. They flushed their tanks at the dealership and replaced all their fluid. Then they flushed my trans twice. They asked permission to drive the truck more than 50 miles to test it; naturally I was fine with this.
They called to report that it drove perfectly. I picked up the truck and have driven it about 50 miles myself. It shifts perfectly smooth again and there are no horrible noises. None of the symptoms remain.
When I spoke to the Ford regional manager, I pressed her to be sure the paperwork would "memorialize" this saga. When I picked up the truck I was sure to carefully read all of the documentation. It was all there; the contamination, noises, shift issues and the reference numbers to the other work orders.
The truck seems to be running great. If something should occur, there's no question they will take care of it. Additionally, They gave the truck a good wash before they gave it back (it was a bit dirty when I took it in).
All in all, they handled this very professionally, admitted the issue and took responsibility. Hopefully there are no ill effects. I doubt there will be.

It's good to know your truck took 7 qts. At least that part of the repair went right.
Thanks MisterCMK.

Glad to hear it. Moisture can cause damage for sure, but that doesn't mean it will in the short time it was in there. You've got lots of warranty for the problem to show itself, and the documentation will be helpful if it happens after this.
You're keeping great perspective about all of this, most wouldn't be that calm. Glad to see this!

I have to hope Ford proper would force the dealership to replace it if they felt it would fail.

Thank you Deysha. I appreciated how the Ford rep stepped up the game on this issue and I believe helped in ensuring my paperwork adequately disclosed this ordeal.
The truck is running great. I have a couple of work trips over the next few weeks; so the truck will see little use. But soon after that is the trip I mentioned above; it will see a good workout.
Many thanks to you and your colleagues!

It got towed back to the dealership today. All the symptoms returned; I was not even towing.
I also called Ford and left word for the regional rep who has been helping me.
I leave tomorrow morning on a work trip to Grand Rapids, MI. I won't be back home till late thursday night. They have basically all week with the truck. I don't know what's next; but it better be a new transmission. Something got damaged and its causing these symptoms to come and go.
I'll post updates as I get them; probably won't be any news till next week; plus my work schedule away from home limits my time online.
I'm VERY unhappy! I want this to be over!
