new guy from cali

Howdy, My names Gary, after very nearly getting stuck trying to pull my boat up a jack up boat ramp in my 2wd Silverado I decided I needed a heavier tow vehicle that was also 4wd. After an exhausting search for a good deal on a low mile and clean Superduty I came across this 99 F350 v10......

I was able to negotiate a deal I found favorable and purchased her. Definitely not my first ford, I've have several rangers and f150's. This is my first heavy duty truck and should make short work of towing things like this......

I find forums to be a valuable resource and look forward to learning from you all.

Then I removed that disgusting molding and sticker the use to cover the two tone transition.

I think it looks better even if the two tone paint line isn't perfectly straight.

My in laws recently purchased a silverado that had this Black Kobalt tool box in it, he despises black and gave it to me. I believe in being self sufficient and carry a great deal of gear, tools and recovery gear and a high lift jack. A tool box is paramount to me.

I took all the tools out of my Silverado and my Cherokee, picked out what I thought I needed and loaded up the box. I assure this will be full as I learn more about the truck and figure out what's truly necessary.

I actually purchased this truck from a local ford dealership. They offered a 3 month warranty which I thought was pretty cool. On my test drive I noticed the AC wasn't blowing cold air, they agreed to service the system which we both assumed would be a simple freon fill. Upon returning to pick up my truck they informed me the AC system had rust issues and they were basically replacing the entire thing, for free.

Stellar customer service!

The truck sits with a pretty significant rake, personally not a fan of the rake. I prefer it to sit level, so I order some new U bolts to remove the factory lift block.
