Ordering a BPD oil cooler tomorrow!
#31
Well guys, I finished up the BPD oil cooler install Saturday and my truck is at a local shop getting the AC system recharged right now. The install was actually not bad at all. The hardest part was getting the transmission cooler out so I could put the lowering brackets on. Everything else was a breeze! Now my oil temps are staying lower than my coolant temps by an average of about 7-10 degrees. Well worth the money IMO!
E series are a fair bit different than F series
in configuration.
i've only gotten it hot once since then, pulling up an elevator shaft
with 15,000# of weight. floored in first, going 11 mph. (nine mile
canyon to kern plateau.)
otherwise, i've not seen oil, coolant, or trans temps top 200.
yeah, it's expensive. zero complaints. it solves a lot of problems.

I can tell you my sons trans never gets hot or coolant but the oil temp pulling 16K threw the desert in the summer going up hwy40 or 5 here the oil temp can get to 250 degrees. So get the biggest oil cooler that comes with it. I talked to them and they told me they new of the problem and wanted another $600.oo for the new cooler. Not very good business if you ask me. There in Arizona they should of had it worked out. And he dose have the remote filter.
