Picked up a parts truck (pics)

Hey guys, this past weekend i picked up a parts truck and thought id share. its a 92 F250 7.3 5 speed, 3:55 gears. Originally I picked it up w/ the plan to swap axles/gears with my 4:10s, but after driving it home this things mechanically in way better shape than my 93. i think a complete drivetrain swap is in my very near future.
here she is sittin next to my 93. The body is shot, junk, gone. Only parts worth maybe saving would be the headlights and grille.

Got it in the shop for the first time tonite, and first thing i did was get the drivers door to fully open/close. The farmer backed it into something open, and shoved it shut and it would not fully open, and when closed there was a 1/2" gap between the door and the cab. Its raining now, glad i took the time to do this

Next up was the dash. Before i bought it somebody swapped in a gasser gauge cluster, and neither the tach or the temp gauges worked. Problem is the odometer didnt work in the parts truck cluster. So pull em out, disassemble, clean em up pretty, replace a bunch of burnt out bulbs, and voila, one fancy new tach cluster

Thats all i got done tonite, gotta go back in tomorrow and see why the oil psi gauge is not working now, and then pull out the gooseneck plate in the bed. Axle work comes this weekend!!! Lemme know what you think!

A complete, running, & matching parts truck. I'd say you did good and you'll have years of extra parts to keep your truck on the road.

How's the frame, rust-wise? If it's as good as the blue truck, wouldn't it be less work to drop the blue cab/bed on this truck?

Oh man that turd brown, flashbacks to my wife's old '83 F150. At least the rust is color-coordinated.....

lol I wish I could keep it forever. But unfortunately I don't have a place to store a pickup truck for more than about a month. The frames are good in both the trucks but there's a lot of little parts that are in better shape on mine.

She doesnt scream driving down the interstate anymore!! During the week im gonna try and replace 3rd members from the front axles, we'll see how motovated i get lol.

Up in the air, ready to rip & tear!

And its out!!

I didnt take too many pics, everything looked the same lol

That's a big difference. I need to look into putting 3.55s in my truck for that difference

Me, I'd do the opposite swap if the '85 was a 2wd, 3:55s to 4:10s. I hate towing with the 3:55s.
But then last time I towed I was still NA so it may be a non-issue now.
