How good are the 460 like 1988 GENERATION

Looking at a F250 with a 460 and am curious how good they are reliability and how bad mileage is when towing small loads like under 5 grand, Thanks for help.

Reliability comes down to how well it was taken care of.
perfectly maintained and treated well I would think 300k before a tear down.
BUT it isn't a perfect world and I'm sure you probably aren't talking about a crate engine.
Mileage isn' that great and I'm not sure from personal experience in towing.
Yet from my reading; you can look at getting 8-10 mpg towing a load like that.
EFI vs carb and other items like transmission and rear end ratio can change the mileage as well.

Thanks for the help. People are claiming 5 or 6 for mileage.
