Just purchased 1996 F250 CCSB PS
Hey everyone, pretty new guy here. I have had some older fords, but recently got a straight body 4 door F250 that needs a little TLC. So far I have been introduced to a few of its quirks. Most exciting was death wobble and automatic lane changes. I also had one day that it lost voltage to the interior lights, speedo and transmission. The radio was wired completely wrong and I kind of wonder if this was tied to my electronic issue since they share a circuit. After unplugging the fuse and fixing the radio wiring, that issue seems to have went away.
The PO put a 4" Rough country lift on it and ended up cutting the two bolts that go to the axle pivot brackets under the oil pan. Doesn't seem like a ton of room under there to get bolts back in. I was thinking of using new bolts from the bottom with lock nuts on the top. What is the common technique to get at those vertical axle pivot bolts? Do you unbolt motor mounts and lift the engine? Is it common to leave those bolts out?
I actually want to return it to stock and plan on replacing pivot, spring and link bushings with polyurethane ones as well as new ball joints and tie rod ends. The u-joints seem good. All and all the truck looks pretty solid just had some poor wrenching done at times.
I will have this lift available if anyone wants it. I was hoping to recover some of the costs of the new front end parts. I would also like to track down a stock airbox. This has a K&N type that doesn't seem that heavy duty. Anyway, glad to be here. I'm sure I will have more questions but there is a lot of information I will try to digest first.

Welcome to the 73. OBS forums! Most folks ditch the stock air box in favor of the 6637 filter system. You can get the kit from Clay. Riffraff Diesel 6637 Filter Kit - Riffraff Diesel Performance , or make one up by getting the filter and a 4" 45 degree exhaust elbow. As long as the bolts aren't to long to rub the oil pan, it won't make a difference which way they are installed.
