Tracking a F150 build??

I didn't want them to change the grill. It just "happened" one day a couple weeks ago. I'm damn curious to see which grill I end up with.
I did talk to the dealer yesterday afternoon, and they swear that it has not arrived yet.

Oh it got better yesterday. The dealer called yesterday morning (5/30/2015) to tell me they "found" the truck. It had been sitting at the train depot in Benicia (as I had suspected), waiting for truck transport from Benicia to the dealer. They told me that it had indeed been loaded on the truck, and that it would be delivered that day (5/30/2015).
They think it is because they (Ford I think) had switched truck transport companies, and that they were having some startup problems. That plus the Memorial Day holiday had introduced additional delays.
After delivery, it still is getting a few more days for the leather upgrade. They will be letting me know as that progresses, and I expect to have the truck this week. At least that is a local shop, so we now have a handle on it.
Just out of curiosity, I went back to COTUS this morning, and the status changed again! Get a load of this. So even though I know (now) that the truck has been delivered to the local dealer, COTUS has switched back to "in transit".

That's classic right there. Glad to hear they found it and it should be in your hands this week. We will be waiting for pictures.

The funny thing is, you know that Ford & its dealers need to know the information that is contained in COTUS. So why they can't make the location/status of a vehicle in their inventory extend to a simple web site is beyond me.

YES! I got a grill! The truck actually arrived at the dealer last Saturday (5/30/2015). They sent out the seats for the leather upgrade on Monday & got them back on Thursday (6/4/2015). So we went down and picked it up yesterday afternoon. Contrary to the CGI images that I've posted previously, the grill is black (what I was expecting when I ordered it). BTW - COTUS still lists the status as "In Transit". Here's a picture in our driveway from last evening.

Subnote: June 12, COTUS still shows the truck "In Transit"; 2 weeks after it actually arrived, and 1 week after we took it home.
We're really liking it. Ordered Weathertech floor mats for the front, as the ones we got from Ford are the NHTSA versions that stay at least 4" away from any pedals. Also ordered the Weathertech mud flaps for all 4 corners. Wanted to order them from the local Ford dealer, but they only had the ones for the back wheel wells.
We did decide to get the back wheel well liners from Ford. Have those on order now.

Still waiting on the mats; very disappointed in the factory mats. They are virtually worthless, especially for someone that lives in the country.
BTW. COTUS FINALLY caught up with reality today (6/19 - 3 weeks after delivery).

You quickly learn to be vague with customers on delivery dates. I've had a Transit sitting completed at the factory since the last week of April. June 19 now and its still there. I ended up dealer trading one in after all the patience of an order cause they needed it. We don't get the clearest info from Ford either.
