what year steering columns will fit my 77 f250, manual with 4wd? im hearing so far 78 and 79s wont.... so what years will

 

There should be some threads on this. But any column from a 73-79 f100-f350 will work but note that the interior trim and base where steering wheel mounts and the wheels are different on the 78-79's. also if you get a two wheel drive column you can disassemble the column and remove the shaft and swap it with a 4wd one. That is if its a none tilt column. One of the hardest to find columns is a manual tilt. Which I believe only came in 78 & 79.

i can get a 78 79 column right now i just need to know if its gonna fit... idc about the steering wheel im putting on my own custom wheel

 

If its a none tilt and or for a 4x4 you will be fine.

 

Here hopefully these will explain a little better. This is a 79 auto 4x4 tilt column in a 1976 f250 note the red piece that is along the dash is from the 76 column once I find a good 79 one which is bigger around and black plastic ill switch it out. Hope it helps.
