That sounds pretty good. Not quite as aggressive as I thought it would sound. Thanks for posting a clip!

That'll probably change once you get that factory T pipe replaced. Are those gibson headers Stainless Steel? I can't wait to hear/see what you do with it!

It always throws me off when I hear that whistle at first. lol That sounded amazing! Makes me want to go out and get a 6.0 already.

Does that make any droning inside the cab with it being straight piped?

I don't have any drone complaints. I will throw the cat on if I'm towing heavy for a distance. That's enough to tone down the rumble when climbing.

I grabbed a quick crappy cellphone clip of what the V-10 sounds like with open headers. You know for, for fun and the like

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jfv0...ature=youtu.be

I have my exhaust all hooked back up currently. I just need to get the last little bit of heat shielding installed and double check everything and then I can take it for a drive. WOO!

Nice clips! Thanks for sharing! Is that a full exhaust system? Did you do headers too?

I finally got mine on, and I'm waiting for a few moments of free time to grab some audio clips recorded in the same fashion. I've been a bit pre occupied with HD wheels :-P

Something I've noticed with my headers and new Y pipe, I get this wooshing sound, and it almost sounds like I have an exhaust leak. I'm going to have to fire it up and crawl underneath and verify.

DU - it's a full exhaust, cat delete. The truck came with Gibson headers, and those are still on it. I'm going to take new videos, since after about two weeks and 600+ miles, the sound as changed and mellowed a tad. There's a minute bit of drone at about 1400 - 1600 RPM, barely noticeable with the windows up. At 70mph and roughly 2000 RPM, it just has a nice rumble, but, we can talk inside the truck without having to yell. When I stand on the go-pedal, though, it's music too my ears. Overall, I'm happy with it.

I think I've noticed that my headers sound has changed a tiny bit in the last 600 miles I've put on them so far. I think I'll be considering that system if I decide to move forward and do a full exhaust.

However, I am still waiting for Tom to go and do his already :-P

And right now Tom is waiting anxiously to get a full night's sleep, me and steady 12 hour day shifts don't mix well, 4AM comes waaayyy too early!
The 3 days at the beach last weekend was fun but still not enough rest for my weary old bones, can't wait for vacation in mid June! Hopefully the Aeroturbine 3030XL muffler/resonator will fit into the schedule after vacation.

I was going to have an x-pipe installed as well, but, the design of the Magnaflow dual in/out does pretty much the same thing. I really wish I the shop had mandrel bent pipes, but, I don't think I'd have actually gained anything other than spending more money... The total cost, including tax was around $650. I couldn't have bought a kit to give me the same results for that money, when my time is factored in. Plus, I'm a terrible welder...

I think that hairdryer is louder than the exhaust.... It's sounds pretty good, for a diesel.

Hey!

I decided to start looking for some sound clips for the Aeroturbine 3030XL because Tom has his heart set on it. I haven't any clips for the XL , but I have found quite a few for the Aeroturbine 3030. It sounds very nice on the V-10. A deep tone that isn't super loud. I think the XL model is supposed to be a bit quieter. The price tag on this muffler isn't too bad either.

No idea who's Ex this is, but:

I found a couple others earlier today, but I can't find them now.
