2015 Expedition Platinum with 22" PVD Wheels

Had my PVD Chrome exchange wheels from Detroit Wheel and Tire installed. I didn't have time to take any good pics, these will have to do for now. Options are Brunello interior, 2nd row captains chairs and 22" wheel/CCD package. Big improvement over my former 2006 and 2013 Expeditions.

Looks really good with the chrome wheels. I would be ok if they came that way from the factory.

How would they standup to a Canadian winter with all the salt on the roads? I really don't want to put a set of cheap black steel wheels on my 2015 Platinum.

Did you order two 15 expy's?

In an older thread you said you ordered the 20" wheels with the load leveling rear suspension because it was a must-have for you.

I am curious why the 22's don't fit with the load leveling suspension according to Ford's website...but according to you.....they fit unless the truck posted above is different than this truck you ordered:

BTW - how is that coating holding up on the wheels?

I am considering the same package from detroit but with different tires.

I ordered the 20" wheels with the LL suspension. The dealer called me last Spring and said "your truck is in" I went down and I guess an error was made, it had the 22" wheels and CCD suspension. I was really bummed and left the dealership, but came back later than night, looked more closely, drove it, and purchased it. Yes, I wish I had the LL suspension, but given that I would probably tow 1% of the time, I decided to go with the 99% solution and absolutely glad I did.

With that said, if LL is available with the CCD/22" in the future, I would go that route. As for the chrome wheels, they look exactly like the day they were installed. DWT has a 5 year no questions warranty, certainly better than the Ford wheels. And for tires, see my other post, I bought new Michelin tires 2 weeks ago, installed them, didn't like them, and ended up with the new Pirelli Scorpion Plus tires. Nothing but good things to say about them.

Take care

I'm really liking your 79 and have always been partial to the 79s, only year in that period with square headlights, right?. I have a good friend that purchased a black 79 F350 regular cab 4x4 new and still has it. Completely stock and unmolested. 400 motor as I recall and has the 4 speed granny-gear T18 trans. Has the good 3rd members and transfer case as well. I recall him saying that it was the first year to get the F350 in a SRW configuration but I could be mistaken there. His has the door/compartment at the bottom of the bed on the right side, don't recall what that's called. Ranger package or something..

Hey. I really like your wheels. I also ordered my wheels from Detroit wheels and tires. I ended up getting the black chrome PVD. Do you mind telling how the quality was. My wheels where scratched on the back of the rims. Other than that they look good. They look like they scratch very easily. How are your rims holding up.

After 40k miles my wheels look like the day I purchased them, with the exception of a very. very small road rash on one from my daughter. Good luck . Post up some pics of your when you get them mounted.
