What Do You Think Of Colored Linex?

Linex Body Armor

This product was developed as a coating for the body of vehicles. I saw it on a TV show where they painted a yellow 2014 Corvette. Very cool and tough look.
The texture is variable by the person spraying from low to rough.

I love the low gloss hotrod look and also how tough it is.

It would look great on my truck and M1101.

White Linex is pretty cool.

Other colors too.

I think for bumpers or accents it is decent. But to do a Whole truck, that is just silly.

You can't just touch it up and if you get a dent in a panel, you have to use a GRINDER to get the stuff off

I have to grind my rockers to get it off my new truck

In my opinion their is a reason it is called bed liner.

I personally wouldn't put spray in liner in anything but the bed especially a very clean truck.

The trailer maybe but it depends how much the trailer is worth to you my trailers get beat up (so my trucks don't) so I just rattle can them get a scratch break out the rattle can.

The only spray in liner I have experience with is Rhino. I also brushed Duraliner into my Bronco. From my experience both of them are very hard to clean well. Dirt or whatever gets into the texture and is hard to scrub out. I'm OK with that in the bed of a working truck, but I wouldn't be happy with it on the outside of the vehicle.

Wonder what it looks like when the "Ford rust" starts coming through from the other side?

I don't know, it's not a problem here in the South.

This product was developed to be sprayed on the body, it is not rubberized and is polyurethane. I don't think it would be hard to clean with a car wash brush and soap.

I had the bed of one of my 79's rhino-lined several years ago (20yrs) and put 2 coats of polyurethane on it after letting it cure for a couple of weeks. It still looks brand new and cleans up super easy!!

Agreed. I did the tub of my bronco and it is hard to keep it clean

Instead of spray bed liner you could always go with the plastikote. They came out with the sprayable plastikote and if it's damaged or you don't like it you can peel it off

This guy from PSN did his in red and it looks great. He also did a 6BT swap which I think is awesome. I think it looked better without the flares and a black bumper and front end would look better. It just looks all business I think with the texture and low sheen.

He says in the post that it was $4500 to have the whole truck including inside the bed done at Linex. That is pretty expensive but I am sure it could be done cheaper....I know a guy who was a customer of my Snap-on days who would help me out.

I've been wanting to do this to my truck for a while now, but it is simply way too cost prohibitive. The quotes I've gotten for just the bed w/rail caps, color matched to my paint were in the $850 range for LineX, and about half that for Rhino. I like the LineX a lot more, and from what I understand, it really is a better, more durable product.

Being in FL, the sun beats the crap out of the paint (LineX has a UV blocker in the colored variety), and we don't have the snow grime to contend with where the "hard to clean" issue would come into play.
Due to cost, I'm considering doing just the bed and top surfaces (hood & roof), then re-painting the rest. I haven't gotten an actual quote, but I think the hood, roof, & bed combo would run in the $1500 range.
