1983 AOD no shift

I have an 83 F100 Flareside with a 302 and 2150 Motorcraft Carb. It has been 4 years now for my frame off rebuild and I am nearing the end. I took the truck around the block for the first time yesterday and she would not shift out of first, even when I let off of the gas. The kick down is connected, but am unsure how to adjust. I know I have an adjustment at both the transmission and Carb, but where do I start. Should I leave it to a professional? Will the carb move the bar in Park if I rev it?

Are you using the STOCK Motorcraft carburetor that your truck came with from Ford?

I ask that question because it is extremely important that you have the correct carburetor with the proper AOD linkage:

If you have the correct carburetor, see the bottom of the link below for the "Rod type TV adjustment."

Yes, original rebuilt carb. I figured I would need to adjust this as I replaced the rod during the rebuild. Thanks for the info.
