Help. Overheating E-150 1989 5.0
Problem is that it is overheating very fast (like 5 minute drive).
There was a small coolant leek at the bottom of the engine, thermostat is kind of ok, because it is opening and letting hot coolant to radiator.
I checked many other things, but Stopped to several: engine cooling fan is not spinning, it is connected to water pump, so i would like to understand do i have to replace just a water pump or fan too ? Maybe it is a common issue ?

If your overheating that quick, you have a problem with the water pump or very low coolant.
Were you able to check the coolant level in the radiator, AFTER it cooled down?
Is the radiator cap in good condition? A faulty cap will not hold the pressure in the cooling system, and just let it purge out.
You wrote that the cooling fan is not spinning??
Does this van have the Serpentine Belt with the Belt Tensioner Assembly, Or with the V-belt?? A belt slipping will not turn the water pump to force the coolant into the engine, and also the fan is connect to the water pump shaft.
I have seen water pumps where the propeller have come loose off the shaft, and not turning to move the coolant, causing overheating, but the fan will still spin.

The clutch contains oil and spins up when it senses too much heat. Once the oil leaks out, the belt won't spin the fan but it will spin the water pump to circulate the coolant (when the thermostat opens).
