DANA 44-6F Knuckle rebuild
Are the kingpin bearing cap shims available anywhere?
I started to replace the knuckle seals last night and after removing the felt and seal, I was met with a small pile of loose tapered rollers that had escaped to freedom. The inner race was corroded to the upper kingpin and I mangled the shims getting the cap off. The simple replacement of knuckle seals turned into a fullblown apprenticeship as a wheelwright. I am sure glad that I dug into it now.
FYI....Timken cups are PN# 23256 & the cones are PN# 23100 if any one needs them for future ref.

Sorry to say you should be looking for a disc brake front axle as their not any parts around to fully rebuild those closed knuckles. You'll really need to also replace the inner axle seals.
And when you get into that area you'll find the carrier bearing are bad. then you'll find the axles themselves the inner seal area bad also and will leak gear oil pass them.
Been there done that, then junk it a yr later for a 76 disc axle setup.
