Oh Kevin, had I known. A few years ago I went to the big Iowa Gas swap meet and a seller had two of them. One was car and the other truck. I was interested in the truck one because Doc had asked me to find him a sign for outside his shop. I texted him pictures. He opted to not buy it because they were made of a press board material that wouldn't have held up to weather. I think the price wasn't horrible, but don't recall what asking price was. Stu

I'll probably go back to the Iowa Gas show in Des Moines this coming August. If the seller has been hauling the pair of signs around for a few years (not unusual on high end items), you'll get a call. Or you might go yourself to the big Ohio Gas meet, iirc around Dayton, which is normally held earlier in the summer (Edit - May 1st and 2nd in Dayton). I've been there once. Whether you find anything or not, it's great entertainment. Stu

The one in the picture is vacuum formed plastic, stapled to a piece of masonite. I got mine on Ebay, many years ago. Some time after these were made, there were cast aluminum 1957-60 style versions. They are cool, but not painted, so they don't jump out at you like the plastic ones do. I'm sure there were other versions made, like the wood ones Stu mentioned. Dealers had to buy this stuff, so sometimes they would have them made locally to save money. Many dealers didn't buy this kind of stuff at all, so as a result they are rare today.
