The Monster's tail (title fixed)

I figured it was time to start a build thread on my trailer.....most have seen some of the pictures. I thought it would be nice to have them all in one place.

So here goes......

Here is the bed I bought for my trailer it has some damage on the right rear corner, but repairable.
It's is a reading 9' aero bed off a superduty.

I also picked up a sterling 10.5 for a custom trailer axle.

Here's it cut up to save weight (saved about 80-85lbs)

Here's the right rear damage, inside of box was totaled had to cut it out.

Had to remove the panel to knock dents and unfold it

Not perfect but a lot better

Steel for the frame(wife picked it up while I was on the road, in our car)

Here's me measuring(twice) and cutting steel for the frame.

Burning some wire after getting it fixed($450 first repair on a 20 yr old machine)

Even the wife tried.

Here first ever weld, not bad.

Added supports to tongue

Here's my custom axle.

Here's some test fitting and hieght adjustment for marching the X.

Just welded axle to some scrap blocks to get a height for what I need for springs

Sitting close to level now

Had to test fit the bed and see what it looked like.

Looks bad a$$

Trailer has been on hold($$$) for awhile but it's been a brown, FedEx, and wife delivering parts.

The wife being funny
New wheels

B-codes got these for $100

Couldn't find hangers anywhere, so order them from ford
Tears will be in next week

The coupler I'll be using in conjunction with the disk on custom axle.

All over kill, hitch rated for 7k chains rates for 10k only looking for trailer to be at 5k

Bushings

All the new leds, clears are for the front end of the x

Oh and seals for front diff are in there also....

Now I just need time home to get it put together.....

Love your project. Great Idea & photos. And that frame looks like it will take on anything.

I agree, on both statements.

Might wanna edit your post and add an "s" in the appropriate spot in the title.

Don't change it, the title's perfect.

Sounds exactly like a 3yr old would describe it.

I think I have it correct I'm referring to X as "the monster" and the trailer as its tail.

Unless I'm missing something.

Off road/overland camping. Eventually I'll have water(50+) on board and solar panels for off grid camping in the middle of nowhere. It will have 2 roof top tents(kids and momma and me).
