2000 expedition few major issues. heater/cooling system
Heater
Heater blows cold/warm air on every setting, my girlfriend was on vacation down in Oregon when her brother put the setting to full a/c when it stopped blowing different temperature air on any setting. They also said they saw smoke coming out of the engine bay when this happened.
My best guess is the blend door or actuator broke/malfunctioned
Oil in degas bottle/potentially clogged cooling system
I did some research on the oil in coolant reservoir and came up with a bad gasket at the oil cooler.
Car over heats but takes a while, the Degas bottle stays warm and some of the main radiator hoses stay warm as well. One of two heater core hoses is burning hot to the touch while the other one is cold/Luke warm I am guessing the oil mixed in the coolant could have clogged the system up combined with sediment build up could also potentially be air in the system.
I was thinking about back flushing the system a few times to see if i could get any of the gunk/sediment out of the system and see if that fixes the heat issue i have all the parts to fix the car which include
Blend door
Blend door actuator
Full coil suspension conversion kit
New degas bottle
oil cooler gasket
Any input on what you guys think that the issue is? Sorry for the wall of text.
