This is my first post so bear with me. After getting oil change and new air filter, on the way home the a/c blows hot air in the cold position on all settings. I called the qiuck change and the manager who did the work said it must be coincidental. Huh. Any thoughts I know nothing. Please help.
it may be time to recharge the a/c system. i would first have them check for any leaks. the a/c system does require some maintenance after a couple years or so. good luck
I'm assuming that the vehicle in question is an XLT with the three-dial HVAC system.
When you say it blows hot air in all settings, do you mean that it's also occurring in non-A/C settings like "VENT" and "HEAT"?
When you rotate the temperature control dial from the cold to hot positions, no change in air temp? If so, I would wonder about a stuck or otherwise inoperative blend door, which, among other things, regulates the involvement of the heater core in the system. In the good old days, sliding the "Cold"________________"Hot" lever would open and close a valve that fed hot engine coolant into the heater core. In the Expy, hot engine coolant is fed into the heater core 24/7/365. The position of the blend door determines whether or not you fry the polish off your shoes in July.
