Did you come from a 6.0 to a 6.7 and are you much happier
I have a 2006 6.0. It seems it's always something! Not just with the engine but everything. The last 4 months alone is injectors, FICM, steering box, thermostat, ignition switch, alternator harness connector, glow plugs and glow plug harness, bad dummy plugs. Getting tired of dumping money into it but it only has 128,000 miles on it and still runs and pulls great. Saw the stickers on the new ones and I'm just recovering from that shock and awe.
How many of you guys move from a 6.0 to a 6.7 and saw a substantial decrease in downtime, maintenance cost and repairs and are REALLY REALLY happy you did. Mine is paid for therefore not having a payment is a real plus but I'm wondering how much all that maintenance and repair money would be better spent on something newer.
Thanks.

You would be really happy with the 6.7. I had one for 6 years before I took a quick 1-1/2 stint with a 6.4. My 6.0 never gave me any grief. But, the 6.7s have been extremely reliable compared to the 6.0 and 6.4 trucks. The early 6.7s (11s and early 12s) have the potential to eat valves. Overall, the 6.7 is hands down the best all around diesel Ford has had out. In my opinion of course.

The Difference
I had a 2004 6.0 and didn't have any problems with it. Loved the truck, had only one issue with the turbo replaced under warranty and didn't have another issue after that. It was a stock truck after the turbo issue.
I bought a new horse trailer that was heavier than the allowed limit on my 6.0 though the trailer dealer told me no problem. Which probably after reading some of the posts people run over. But I just didn't think that was right so started looking.
Anyway I bought a 2015, WOW on the quiet. It still surprises me. I love the truck! Not sure I would have changed without the upgrade of the trailer but it is a nice truck. And the amenities! Air cooled seats! Like I said enjoying the truck. I got it in August. I thought about ordering one but would have never ordered what I got with this truck.
Honestly I did look at other trucks but the ford fit me best. I wanted the SuperCab and I really hope they never do away with that. Nobody but me but I like the extra room.... and the few people I have put back there have had plenty of room.
Don't see how to post pics or would do of both.

Still have the 04 F-350 dually with the 6.0 and it is still running very strong. As much as I love it, it is not even close in comparison to my 13 F-450. The 6.7 and tranny combo is a pure pleasure to drive and tow with. The 450 has 27,000 on it now , with about 15,000 of that towing over 18K.
I have 7 gauges, 3 on a-post and 4 over mirror for the 6.0 and I was turning into a basket case watching them all the time, worrying!!
With the 6.7, I hook up, go, relax and enjoy the drive.
I still love listening to and smelling the 6.0.

I to have owned a 6.0, a 6.4 and now own a 2014 6.7 F-350 Lariat CC 4x4 LB. I have chosen to drive a diesel because I travel a lot and pull a 33 ft. TT. The 6.0 F-250 XLT 4x4 supercab LB had 66,000 miles on it when I traded it for a 2008 F-350 Lariat supercab 4x4 LB. I traded up because I wanted more creature comforts and the Lariat certainly has them. The 2005 and the 2008 each made two trips to Alaska and numeroius other trips pulling the trailer without issue. When I traded the 2008 in late 2013 for a 2014 6.7 it had 90,000 miles on it. All three of these trucks are great tow vehicles but the 6.7 stands out as a luxury towing beast. The six speed tranny, all of the high tech electronics , cab comforts and powerful 6.7 diesel engine make this thing a pleasure to drive. My daily driver is a F-150 so most of the time when I drive the F-350 the trailer, which weighs in loaded at about 10,000 lb, is hooked to the back. The truck hardly knows it's there. I tow with a Hensley hitch so there are 0 sway issues regardless of conditions. This truck, like the two before it, is completely stock and will stay that way. I should also mention that the 6.7 gets better millage than the 6.0 and 6.4. At least that has been my experience. I hope this rambling bit of information will help you with your decision. Good luck.

I had a Very early 2003 6.0L and a late 2006 6.0L
Both were in the dealer a few times for warranty work as they neared the 100,000 mile work. Like you FICM, HPOP, Glow Plugs were common problems around 90,000+ miles on the 6.0L Fix those and you are probably good for another 100,000 miles.
My 2006 lost an alternator and turbo at 108,000 miles, which prompted me to buy a new 2011.
As far as my 2011 6.7. It currently has 142,000 miles.
And I've had a few repairs.
Brakes @ 80,000, front hubs/bearings @ 105,000, a coolant leak on the back of the turbo @ 138,000 and EGT 2 Sensor at 120,000 and EGT 4 sensor at 141,000
Any truck/vehicle is going to have some problems/maintenance as they get used. I don't think mine is any worse than my neighbors GM or Dodge products. Having an equipment trailer, I get called by them to haul them over to their dealers when their trucks die. So I've seen a few other makes with problems. Just off the top of my head, I'm around $3,000 to $3,500 in repair for the last 60,000 miles. And virtually no repairs before that.
I'd definitely do it again.

My previous truck was a 2007 6.0L that finally blew the EGR and oil cooler pulling across the mountains at around 170k on the clock in he summer of 2011. Fixed it and traded it in a couple weeks later on my current truck, my first new vehicle purchase ever. Other than the payment I have no regrets at all. The whole truck is night and day, head and shoulders, etc, better than my old one (same CC SB Lariat FX4 for both), not just the power train but all of it.

Much happier is a under statement. We had 2 2006 f-350's with the 6.0, used them for snow plowing and lawn care, so they got worked.
Every month money was being spend fixing them. Your list is not far from ours with what had been done to them. We do most of the work our-self's to save a little $$, but the time being put into them was getting out of control. Even had a few times where they went down and left us in a pinch. Don't get me wrong, when they ran they were great trucks, but to many things consistently needing fixing put us over the edge with them.
It was to the point we were spending more fixing them then what we would be paying per month for new ones. We then stepped into two new 6.7's and have never looked back.

I owned 2 6.0's (Excursion and a F250) and they both didn't make it past 10k miles without major repairs. Ford did step up and take them back and I had a Ford hiatus for a few years until 2010 when I bought my first 2011 6.7... Just Traded the 2011 in on a 2015. Long story, but basically I didn't have a warranty on the 2011 and needed about $3k in wear items (2 sets of Tires needed (summer/winter), Windshield/Front Grill cracked from rocks driving up to Alaska), so I decided to NOT put that into and trade up instead. The 2011 was a Florida Truck and I moved to Alaska and so I bought a truck with all the cold/winter stuff on it too. I should note that I have NEVER bought basically the same truck back to back, I always switched brands, but I was happy with the 2011 6.7... And other than winter fuel mileage, very happy with the Platinum 2015. Ohh and I got to skip two payments and my payments went DOWN on the 2015, since these trucks hold value well.

Traded up from a 2005 DRW CC with 150,000 miles that broke down "ALOT" the first 100.000 miles but after the break in phase the next 50,000 went smooth.
I got a left over 2012 SRW CC last year and I am very happy with the choice, been to the dealer 2 times with a check engine light and both times it was something in the emission. Everyone that rides with me anywhere is happy with my switch also

My 2001 7.3 had a clutch master cylinder go bad when i was working out of town. That was scary but fixed right away. truck had 50K or so on it. 2005 6.0, egr sneaky pipe broke, made a whistling noise, did the delete at 108000. at 132000 the oil cooler blew. One alternator and tensioner pulley assembly. 3 sets of tires all in just at 200k miles. 4 door 4x4. truck drove like new the day i traded it on my 2015. I paid 35k for the 2005 and 39.5k on the 2015. Cant complain! I have had 5 ford diesels and all of been reliable trucks. I pull with them every weekend and commute during the week. got 8500 miles on the truck i bought back in october...
