Not a Ranger, but an Explorer..

I miss identified the 1972 F100 I posted earlier. For some reason I thought it was a Ranger. It is actually an Explorer, trim pack C. A limited trim pack as far as I can tell. The truck is now home in the driveway....chris

Just make dang sure that is the only mistake you make here.

Beautiful Ride. I personally think those explorer is more "rare" than a Ranger. You see tons of Rangers, hardly ever see any explorers.

What are your future plans with the truck?

I am going to clean it up and keep it as original as I can. There are too many bubba custom F100s out there now. Just like vintage military firearms, they are much more valuable original than messed with. Granted, there are alot of very nice altered F100s out there, but I like old stuff stock...

Couldn't agree with you more. I was recently saying the same thing about my 67 4x4. So many lifted "mud terrain / off road" 67-72 4x4's out there that its almost hard to find one thats actually not modified / stock. I personally like a stock / OEM / original look when it comes to anything Ford related. (Unfortunately previous owner of my truck attempted to do the "off road" look, but I'm doing my best to restore it to original.) Don't get me wrong, customization is nice, but unless your going to go all out and do a frame up custom restoration you'd be much better keeping it all original. (At least in my opinion.)

Either way, good luck with your build. Definitely looking forward to seeing more photos.

Bought the truck on Friday the 13th. I should have known. It has been sitting in the driveway ever since. I came down with a nasty cold the same day and have been inside nursing it ever since watching it get cold, rainy, snowy, and just plain misurable outside. Cold broke today but the forcast doesn't show any improvement for the next week anyway...
