2008 transmission oil & filter change
2008 with 240,000 kms. (150,000 miles)
Having a hoist made this job easier, but just drop the pan and filter comes right off too. Make sure the rubber ring comes off with the old filter and doesn't stick in tranny. Gasket is reusable. Just wipe clean. Pan was as clean on this truck as a new one! I was pleasantly surprised. Installed new filter and bolt pan back on (98 in/lbs). Tricky part is refilling. Dump in about a gallon then start. Run through the gears then place in PARK and leave idling. Fill to BOTTOM of crosshatch when cold with Mercon SP (or whatever your manual states). It will be full when hot. Re-install dipstick and 19mm/3/4" cap over it.
