4x4 Trans adapter

My son...in his infinite wisdom broke the collar that connects the trans to the transfer case. Broke it right in half!!! He says he wasn't beating on it, but I think otherwise. The amazing thing is he was able to limp it home. At least he saved a tow bill.

Well, I have it apart and now I being told that Ford no longer make the part?!?! Does anyone know where I might find one? Is there an aftermarket replacement that I can use?? Any help would be appreciated.

BTW...it's a 2001 F-150 with the 5.4 Triton.

Maybe a local transmission shop might have a used

You can buy them at Home - Transtar Industries. Your local auto parts store might be able to get it, too.

Yup!!! I suspect that it has been cracked and just gave up the other night. Too much time traveling the beaches I guess. Wheel hop is bad on driveline parts, and I guess he found the weak link!!!
