i was thinking about a good rebuiild and head work and porting custom turbo header and turbo and switching my 81 4.9l to efi would it work what can be done to the efi system what is available and can the 4.9l take lots of boost has this been done?

 

well u not the only 1 that has given this a thought cause iv been thinking the same thing . but one of the problems with the 300 is that its good for warping the head , so if u going to boost it u can only use very low boost . it would make a good truck with the 300 as it gots lots of tork an the turbo would build up that lost in the mid range of the motor an top end to . so over all it would be lots of tork on tap at all times

 

yes it has been done. Altho it would be a gret venture, it'd probably make more sense to swap in a 351.

I thik there's one around here with 11psi boost with a more or less stock set up.
