How much off a '14 would be to good to pass on and not buy a '15

Well I went to the lot fully expecting to get a 14 with all the money off they were advertising. But after looking at a 14 FX4 and a 15 XLT w/FX4 package the final cost was the same with the difference in financing (5.5% for the 14 3.49% for the 15) the get out the door price was the same so I went with the 15

The only differences I can really remember are this the '14 had leather, sun roof and 20" tires. The '15 had black cloth(more comfortable than a'14 anyway), no sun roof(don't care anywho), and it rode on 18"(which I prefer) also the '15 came with the 6.5' box that I wanted. The '15 also felt faster when you accelerated and I like the new interior better than the '14. So all in all it comes down to personal preference. My wife liked the look of the tinted headlights on the '14. Just go and see for yourself and who knows what you prefer.

The Fx4 line used to be a step up in a bunch of things; shocks, rear diff, skid plates, interior, and probably a bunch of stuff I haven't mentioned. Considering I can build a 2015 XL with FX4 package, I would say it's now a sticker/skidplate addon.

Knew it wouldn't be long.......already finding used '15 F150s..... found one online almost identical to the one I owned for a day ......in fact it had the new rear sliding window the one I bought didn't and had the 5.0 which I could go either way 5.0 or 3.5 and be content.....asking price was 41k something which is cheaper than the 43k I was paying even after getting a couple thousand for my '13 on trade so...... in short the wifey was on point and I was just out of my mind for a bit

I don't think you get the big price breaks until new model years come out. So '16 vs '15 will be too early.
Back in Aug. 2004 when they were selling both the old body style (Heritage) and new body style that year, I bought a brand new Heritage model for only $12k. Well over $10k in savings. So many people wanted the all-new body style that dealers were cutting prices big time to sell the Heritage models they had sitting on the lot. To me it was well worth it. They had been making that model for 7 years and I figured they had all the bugs worked out well before then, and it was a proven model vs. buying a new model for a lot more cost and not knowing what problems may pop up that they need to resolve. Plus I've never been one to get envious about the whole latest model crazes, so that didn't matter to me.

I was so tempted in 04 to get one of the last Heritage models, but I didn't pull the trigger and someone else got the one I was looking at. I really wanted an XL regular cab long bed 4.2l manual tranny, crazy cheap, but I just waited too long. Would have been a great deal. You guys are right, deals like that don't come along very often.
