Just a my truck is running good thread
Last Saturday I took a 290 mile trip up north and back. I filed up at the same station on the way up then again when I got back in town. My MPG was 14.4. I was totally surprised. This was a climb to 7000 feet and back. It was also cool and rainy. 65-70mph. Had a 600lb quad in the bed on the return trip.
Then today, I took her in for emissions testing. She passed with flying colors. ZERO on the loaded and idle HC and CO. ZERO, nada... I could breathe the exhaust.
I think I'll give the old girl a bath this weekend. She will run even better.

Happy with mine! No engine related issues. My tire swap cost me some MPG though I was shocked how crappy mileage the Duratracks get compared to the factory conticraps.
In the last couple months I haven't done much with the truck (tried to keep it off the salt covered roads) except haul wood pellets and eco-bricks for heating my house a few times. My last 3 trips I carried 2 one-ton skids each trip truck handles 4,000 lbs in the bed just great. And believe it or not, my mileage on the highway went up slightly with 2 ton in the bed.

My wife sold her business, so I sold my enclosed trailer because her business was the only need for it. So now my truck sits even more than it used to. She complains about having a truck that sits in the drive and that I never drive it. What she just will not understand is that a man needs a truck, a good truck. One that will sit for long periods of time and start right up and never miss a beat, get abused, flogged, and the such without having any major issues if any at all. Thus the V10 drivetrain. Get in, start up, put in gear, fill up with gas--Go! No worries!!

And my 4x4 super cab short bed ,just keeps on a rolling.
Peel always make the comment,"oh that's a V10, really gas hog ehh?"
I reply with 14 miles to the gallon consistently.
I have a manual 5 speed, a real man's truck, always has one you know lol.
Bought it a year ago with 131k, today it has 160k.

I don't mind NOT rowing gears anymore, especially towing. And a "real mans" truck has dual rear wheels for hauling the heaviest loads...... ;-)
I'd love a 60's to early 70's Bronco with a manual and/or get another Suzuki GSXR. Making a manual shift "fun".
I don't miss messing with the clutch to back up a heavy trailer or being stuck in traffic having to constant clutch or change gears.
To each their own though.

Did a lot of picking up, towing, and moving this winter. But the most amazing "lets see if you can do this trick" I watched my v10 dually do this winter was when the city buried the truck 3/4th of the wheel height with heavy snow. the only digging I had to was to reach the hub locks so I could engage them. once in 4WD, crawled right out with no wheel spin.
